TEACHER COMPETENCY STANDARDS FRAMEWORK (TCSF)
The world along with Myanmar is undergoing a digital revolution. With that, the quality of the education system needs to be improved (TCSF) is designed to build a strong system of teacher education to meet that need. and teachers must be equipped for it. Unesco’s Myanmar Teacher Competency Standards Framework
Research shows that teachers are revered in Myanmar and placed on the same level as parents, just below Buddha. As a result, what they do is accorded a divine-like status which is rarely questioned or challenged resulting in the status quo. What they don’t realize is the speed of change taking place outside and what/how they teach have a direct impact on how the students can thrive/survive in the long run. TCSF will turn the whole ecosystem around and cause stress to the stakeholders, especially the teachers. Many feel it is a different world from what they are used to.
Creative’s challenge was to reduce the anxiety and resistance to change by showcasing TCSF is an ally that will guide and improve the skill sets/competencies of teachers. Illustrations were used to dial up the friendliness of the program while concepts visualizing TCSF as stairs to bridge the two worlds were introduced to communicate that the program is structured for teachers to keep up.
